Did you know there are requirements for an ordering clinician to be available in Veriphy when integrated with PowerScribe 360 or RadWhere?

When Veriphy is integrated with PowerScribe 360 (PS360) or RadWhere, the following must occur for the ordering clinician to be available for auto population or selection within Veriphy, and for alerts to subsequently be generated for an ordering clinician:

  1. Ordering Clinician needs to be setup in Veriphy.
  2. Ordering Clinician needs to be setup in PowerScribe 360.
  3. Ordering Clinician needs to have the Veriphy ID in PowerScribe 360 and the PowerScribe 360 ID in Veriphy.
  4. Databases need to be synchronized.
  5. Ordering Clinician needs to exist in the RIS.
  6. Ordering Clinician needs to have sent an order through the RIS.

Note: This issue is noted with new implementations of PS360 and or RadWhere. This issue is also noted when nursing units are setup as Ordering Clinicians (OC) or other fictitious ordering clinicians exist. The key is to make sure that the OC, required to receive an alert through Veriphy, has all 6 points above addressed.

Did you know that in order for Radiologist to view the status of an alert in Veriphy, integrated with PowerScribe V5.x, an executable file has to be installed?

When an alert is sent via Veriphy and Veriphy is integrated with PowerScribe V5.x, the radiologists have the ability to view the status of the alert and view updated information about if / when the alert has been retrieved (Read). For this feature to work correctly, the hsg_vocada service has to be running on the PowerScribe server in order for the Report Status window to be updated. An executable file, hsg_vocada.exe, has to be installed and running on the PowerScribe Server. If you are experiencing an issue when selecting the Veriphy Report Status button in the Window and the information is not accurately displaying when an alert has been read, perform the following to ensure the Report Status is getting updated correctly:

  1. Check the PowerScribe Server for the hsg_vocada.exe file.
  2. If the file is available, execute the file.
  3. If the file is not available, contact Nuance Support at 1-800-833-776 and request a copy of the hsg_vocada.exe file be installed on the PowerScribe server.
  4. Once the hsg_vocada.exe file is executed, updates will flow to the Veriphy Report Status window and the radiologists will be able to view when the Veriphy alerts are received.

Note: This article is applicable to PowerScribe V5.x and Veriphy Integrations.

John Ruiz is a Certified Technical Trainer and Senior Applications Training Specialist within Nuance's Professional Services team. John began his career with Dictaphone where he received the “Most Valuable Team Member” award in 2000, 2001 and 2005, and was also the 1999 Achievement Club winner. Although John is extremely proficient in all Nuance Healthcare Products, he specializes in Radiology Speech recognition applications. John is very passionate about Nuance solutions and is continuously focused on ensuring that every Nuance customer is receiving the best training and support possible. John is also a member of the Computing Technology Industry Association.

When away from Nuance, John can be found on the family ranch located in the White Mountains of Arizona.
