How to Design a Compliance
Workflow that Works
Should coders validate for
compliance while coding the record? Or is it best to check with
someone else after the claim has been coded? The truth is there are
pros and cons to both approaches depending on the facility.
During this session, we'll review some best
practice workflows that fellow Clintegrity Compliance clients are using
with success in their organizations. You will learn:
- Compliance
best practice custom rules
- Compliance
best practice reports
- Examples
of client operational approach to using Clintegrity Compliance

EHR
study sheds light on how to improve clinician satisfaction.
While the finger has been pointed at
electronic health records (EHRs) as the reason a physician spends more time
looking at a computer than his patients, a new HIMSS Analytics study
shows progress. Healthcare leaders now see EHR's potential and
point to ways to change the game for healthcare providers; improve the
date input process and boost clinician adoption in hospitals. Read

Question:
What is the correct ICD-10-PCS assignment for endoscopic transbronchial
needle aspiration biopsy of right mediastinal lymph node?
Answer: The PCS code 07B74ZX, Percutaneous Endoscopic Excision
of Lymphatic, Thorax, Diagnostic should be assigned for this biopsy
procedure.
Lymph is considered tissue rather than fluid, therefore, the appropriate
root operation for transbronchial needle aspiration biopsy of lymph is
Excision. The root operation Drainage is used when fluid or
gas is removed. The access the lymph tissue, the surgeon must
"go through" the wall of the bronchus to reach the lymph
node. The surgeon cannot remain within the confines of the bronchus
(tubular body part), which indicates that via natural opening, endoscopic
would not be the best approach to reach the mediastinal lymph node.
The body part selection of Lymphatic, Thorax is based on the PCS body
part key located in the Appendices.
