When adding or changing more than a few of your facility's procedure codes and descriptions, use a Procedure Master Translator (formerly referred to as a charge master). You can do this by updating your original Procedure Master Translator and re-importing it, or by creating a new Procedure Master Translator containing only the new or modified codes. Then, you must import the Procedure Master Translator into your database.
To use a Procedure Master Translator to add or modify codes:
1. Modify the Procedure Master Translator. Or, create a new Procedure Master Translator containing only the procedures you want to add or change.
2. Begin the procedure for importing a Procedure Master Translator.
3. In the Update Actions group box, select Update procedure code data.
4. Click Next.
5. Click Import to complete the update procedure. The number of updated items is displayed.
