Release overview

Dragon Medical Advisor 1.4 introduces the code extractor module. Licensed users can get a list of ICD-10 codes and Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO) descriptions identified from their documentation, copy the codes, search for related conditions and refine their diagnoses. Patient context support is now available for athenaNet and Allscripts TouchWorks.

What's new

New functionality for end users

The code extractor is delivered as a new tab in the Advisor window. As users are dictating, the code extractor analyzes the text for diagnoses and lists the corresponding ICD-10 codes and IMO descriptions.

The user can do the following:

To enable the code extractor, the Code Extractor content pack license must be installed for your organization; you can then assign the licenses to your users via the Nuance Management Center (NMC).

EHR support

athenaClinicals and Allscripts TouchWorks are now fully supported. When the user is working with these systems, Dragon Medical Advisor now captures the patient context information to improve the accuracy of the advice and reduce the amount of redundant advice.

System requirements

Speech recognition application

Dragon Medical One 4.0 Service Release 2; the user does not need a speech recognition license to use Dragon Medical Advisor.

EHR

The following EHRs are fully supported:

Epic 2015, 2016 and 2017; Cerner DynamicDocs, PowerNote, Clinical Notes; athenahealth; Allscripts TouchWorks

Dragon Medical Advisor will work for applications not on this list and when dictating via the Dictation Box, but with a reduced feature set.
