Release overview

Nuance Management Center 5.8.3 is a service pack release that includes:

• New password security features for NMC administrators
• Quality and Risk Adjustment license and product types

What's new

New functionality for administrative staff

• Support for HITRUST compliant strong passwords:
  When an NMC administrator updates their NMC password:
  • By default, the new password cannot be the same as any of the last six passwords. An NMC administrator can change this value in the NMC console by changing the Password history - remember last _ passwords option, under Organization Details>Products>Password Settings.
  • By default, the user must change at least 4 characters from the previous password. An NMC administrator can change this value in the NMC console by changing the Password minimum character change option, under Organization Details>Products>Password Settings.

• Quality and Risk Adjustment license and product types:
  
  • A license and privilege is available for customers that use the Quality and Risk Adjustment product.
  • In the NMC console, an administrator with the Product Manage Quality and Risk Adjustment privilege can view the Quality and Risk Adjustment license in the License Type fields and issue a Quality and Risk Adjustment license when creating a new user account.
  • Note: An administrator cannot configure Auto-provisioning settings for the Quality and Risk Adjustment product.
  • An administrator with the Product Manage Quality and Risk Adjustment privilege can view:
    • The Quality and Risk Adjustment product type in:
      • Reports->Client Version->Product drop-down field.
      • Reports->Device Use->Product drop-down field.
      • Utilities->View->Alerts->Product drop-down field.
    • The Quality and Risk Adjustment license type in:
      • Organizations->Search Organizations->License Type drop-down field.
      • Licensing->View Licenses->License Type drop-down field.
      • License Summary->License Type column.
      • Reports->Usage->License Use->License Type drop-down field.
      • Add User->Licenses dialog box.

Solved issues

General issues

• Issue auto-upgrading the Local Authenticator. [NMS-1262]

  Reproduction

  1. An admin auto-upgrades the Local Authenticator, version 5.5.6, to version 5.8.305.

  2. The upgrade process fails. The Local Authenticator is not updated correctly.
     
     New behavior

     Auto-upgrading the Local Authenticator to version 5.8.305 works as expected.
