eTIP1Did you know that a contributor can be removed from a report while maintaining an audit trail of events?

One way to remove a contributor is to simply delete the report, but that will also remove all audit history up to that point.

Click the play button on the eTIPS Video image below to view a short demonstration on how to remove a contributor without losing the report audit history:

eTIPS Video

To remove a contributor without losing the report audit history, perform the following:

  1. In the Admin Portal, pull up the order and Reset it to draft.

    Reset Report to Draft
  2. Have the provider remove the contributor via the RadWhere application. (Insert Menu→Contributors-select/remove).

     Reset Contributor

    Reset Contributor 2

The advantage of this procedure is that all of the audit history for this report is maintained.

For more information about removing a contributor without losing audit history, login to iSupport and search for solution; 14242 "Removing a contributor while maintaining an audit trail." If you are not an iSupport subscriber, click iSupport Timesaver for information on how to get started.

eTIP2Did you know changes need to be made to the default anti-virus settings and file folder permissions for proper operation of RadWhere?

RadWhere has a few required changes to the default settings of anti-virus programs and folder security. Most anti-virus programs implement a real-time scanning feature that, unless properly configured, can interfere with the normal operation of RadWhere and the Dragon speech engine. The way to prevent interference from the anti-virus program is to enter exceptions, either for the file extensions used by RadWhere or the folders used by RadWhere.

The requirement standards for using RadWhere states that some changes be made to the default security on several folders. Use the information below to set up the correct antivirus exclusions and permissions.

Exclude the following file folders and/or file extensions in the anti-virus applicsdddddddation on the client workstations:

  1. (Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance folder and all subfolders OR the extensions: BD, BIN, DAT, DVC, ENH, GSB, GRM, GRX, INI, LCK, NWV, SIG, SVC, USR, VER, VOC, WAV, XML

  2. (Windows 7/Vista) C:\ProgramData\Nuance folder and all subfolders OR the extensions: BD, BIN, DAT, DVC, ENH, GSB, GRM, GRX, INI, LCK, NWV, SIG, SVC, USR, VER, VOC, WAV, XML

  3. (Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\<Windows USER_ID>\Local Settings \Temp folder and subfolders OR the extension: LOG

  4. (Windows 7/Vista) C:\Users\<Windows USER_ID> \AppData\Local\Temp folder and subfolders OR the extension: LOG

Include the following Client Workstation Permissions for all users accessing RadWhere on the client workstation:

  1. (Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nuance folder and all subfolders: All users must have read, write and modify permissions.

  2. (Windows 7/Vista) C:\ProgramData\Nuance folder and all subfolders: All users must have read, write and modify permissions.

Note: (Windows 7/Vista) RadWhere/Dragon 9.6 will not run with elevated privileges. Log in as standard user after install.

For more information about RadWhere anti-virus and workstation permissions, login to iSupport and search for solution; 13938 "RadWhere Antivirus Settings and Permissions Requirements." If you are not an iSupport subscriber, click iSupport Timesaver for information on how to get started.

eTIP3Did you know that if the record button on your Philips SpeechMike™ stops working, it could be due to the version of the Philips Device Control Center that is installed?

If the Philips Device Control is installed on your workstation, but the record button does not activate when pressed in RadWhere, this is likely due to the version of the Philips Device Control Center software.

Newer versions of the Philips Device Control Center use different methods in the driver which are not backward compatible to how RadWhere communicates with the SpeechMike.

To correct the problem you will need to uninstall the current version of the Philips Device Control Center software (i.e. versions 2.5 and 2.7). Then install the known-good Philips Device Control Center version of 2.3.

For more information about Philips SpeechMike not activating the record control, login to iSupport and search for solution; 14246 "Philips SpeechMike not activating Record Control" If you are not an iSupport subscriber, click iSupport Timesaver for information on how to get started.
