This month's eTips
Did you know that PowerScribe 360 Reporting V4.0's new smart AutoText functionality provides the ability to organize your AutoTexts using folders?
To help you organize your AutoTexts in V4.0, you can now create one or more AutoText folders, and then assign AutoTexts to those folders. You can access the AutoText folders from the Report Editor window when creating and editing your reports.
To create a new AutoText folder:
- Log in to the client application and open the AutoText Editor.
- From Folder, select Manage.
You can also click from the task bar to open the AutoText Folder Manager dialog.
The AutoText Folder Manager dialog displays.
If you have administrator rights, you will see an Owner drop-down list above the Folder section, allowing you to select a different user or site for which you can create folders.
- Click Add, enter a name for the folder, and click OK.
Repeat step 3 to create additional folders.
The folders you created now appear in the Folder drop-down list.
To assign an existing AutoText to a folder:
- Locate the AutoText you want to assign to the folder.
- Right-click the AutoText name and select Folder.
- Select one of the folders in the drop-down list you created.
- Click Save.

Did you know that editors can use custom worklist filters to make it easier to retrieve work?
When a provider creates a report and issues a command to have the report reviewed and corrected by an editor, the report is sent to an editor/transcriptionist for correction.
Site administrators create worklist, which are pre-defined searches that filter reports based on virtually any combination of criteria, making it easier for editors (and providers) to retrieve their work. In many cases, editors work on reports for specific departments, or work on a specific modality. Worklists allow administrators to assign these specific types of reports to an editor, allowing them to work more efficiently.
The following examples describe the different worklists that might display:

Did you know that you can use custom fields to insert BI-RADS codes into a report?
One method for adding BI-RADS coding is to use a custom field to enter the code. This method provides an administrator the option to require that the BI-RADS custom field (when it appears in a report template) be filled in before the report can be signed and uploaded.
Custom field data can be exported in the HL7 message. For example, regarding BI-RADS, PowerScribe 360 Reporting solution exports data in any fields associated to mammography procedures to the RIS for tracking and letter generation.
To create a custom field for BI-RADS code selection:
- In the Administrator Portal, select the Sites tab in the Setup group.
- From the drop-down Sites list, select the site, if it is not selected.
- From the Custom Fields area, click (plus sign) to add a new item.
The new custom fields row displays.
- In the new custom field row, enter:
- Name
- Description (optional)
- Clear or check Act (Active) for this new custom field to display in the Custom Field dialog box from the PowerScribe 360 Reporting client.
- Check Exp (Exportable) if you want this custom field to be exported by the Bridge and sent to the RIS.
This option has effect only if you have enabled export of custom fields by selecting the Send Custom Field Segment option for the Bridge service.
- Check RF (Required for Final Reports) which requires a value in the field prior to the radiologist signing the report.
- Check RA (Required for Resident Approved Reports) which requires a value in the field for resident approved reports.
- From the Role list, you can assign one or more roles to allow to use this custom field. Select any or all from Attending,
Resident, Editor, and Technologist.
- Clickto save the custom field.
To add the custom field as a pick list choice:
- From Choices, click Edit. The Custom Field Choices dialog displays.
- Click (plus sign) to add a new line.
- Enter a choice in the Value column.
- Enter a Label, which is the name that the radiologist will see in the
Choices list.
- To send a value to the OBX5 segment of the HL7 message during
the report upload, enter a value into the Export Value field.
- Click to save the pick list choice.
- Repeat Steps 2 through 6 for each of the possible values for this field.
- Click Close Window.
To associate procedure codes with a custom field:
Associate procedure codes to a custom field to ensure that it is available
Failure to associate one or more procedure codes to the custom field will cause PowerScribe 360 Reporting to prompt a radiologist to enter a value for that custom field on every report they attempt to sign or send as preliminary.
- Under Procedures, click Edit. The Procedure Code Selection dialog displays.
- Associate procedures with this custom field: using the Modality/Anatomy/Procedure Code Description search filters.
- Click Close Window when you are finished adding codes.
