eTIPS
Did you know what versions of Internet Explorer are supported with different versions of PowerScribe?
The following versions of Internet Explorer are supported with PowerScribe:
- Internet Explorer 6 SP2: is approved for use with all versions of 4.x and 5.x up to patch 50145.
- Internet Explorer 7: is approved for all versions of 4.8 and 5.x.
- Internet Explorer 8: is approved for PowerScribe 5015 and higher.

Did you know how to recall a report from an Editor?
If a provider dictates a report and sends it to an editor for transcription, it is possible for the same provider to recall the report and continue dictating. The provider can recall the sent dictation by starting a new dictation and entering the same accession number. A message will appear stating that a report has already been dictated and provide an option to recall this report.
Please note: A dictated report may be recalled up until the point that an editor has opened the dictation.

Did you know that anti-virus software can interfere with the operation of PowerScribe?
Nuance recommends running anti-virus software on all machines in order to protect the system from potential downtime due to viruses. Anti-virus applications work well with PowerScribe as long as certain restrictions are followed. If the restrictions are not followed, the anti-virus software can interfere with the operation of the PowerScribe system. There are specific exclusions that need to be in place on both the PowerScribe server(s) and workstations running the PowerScribe dictation\correction clients. Here are some important considerations:

When scheduling the antivirus application to perform a full scan of all files and directories, which should be performed daily, ensure this scan is scheduled to run at a time when the PowerScribe users are not working on the machine.

Make sure, and verify often, that the anti-virus definitions are current or up to date.
- Make certain that the PowerScribe Servers and Workstation are configured to exclude file extensions and directors defined in the PowerScribe manual titled, "Customer System Requirements - Versions 4.x and 5.x."

What's New

PowerScribe Version 5.0.1.6.1 was recently released with the following enhancements specifically addressing PowerScribe and Veriphy integration workflows:
- If you type a report in PowerScribe, as opposed to recording a dictation, you are now able to send a Veriphy notification with that report.
- There is no longer a recording requirement when an impression is included in the message to Veriphy.
- There is a new site setting allowing administrators to require a recording for document only messages and/or messages that include the report impression.
- Update text is entered into PowerScribe report when a Veriphy message is sent.
Please NOTE: Veriphy 4.2.1 web interface is required.

What's Fixed

If you are experiencing one or more of the issues described in the What's Fixed listing, please submit a service request to Nuance Healthcare Solutions Global Support Services through iSupport or by calling (800) 833-7776.
PowerScribe Version 5.0.1.6.1 was recently released with the following fixes:
- Corrected an issue where the dictation client shortcut manager didn't allow capitalizing a shortcut name using the Rename feature.
- Corrected an issue where resizing columns on Orders/Report tab didn't hold setting when using with API.
- Changes were made to the HL7 upload report de-queuing mechanism to update any error status on previous uploaded reports if the latest version successfully uploaded. This will help in making sure reports are placed in a purge ready state.
- Corrected an issue where addendums would not upload intermittently.
- Corrected an issue where Shortcuts would not import into PowerScribe 5.x.
- Corrected an issue where an order could not be saved if the Reason For Study field contained single or double quotation marks.
