Did you know user content could be shared in Dragon Medical 360 | Network Edition?
Dragon Medical 360 | Network Edition (DM360|NE), version 2.x supports the sharing and storage of Auto-Texts, Custom Words, and Command Sets.
This content is shared between the Nuance Management Console (NMC) at the Site and Group levels, and the Nuance client applications at a personal user level. Clients that are able to share content include DM360|NE clients as well as Nuance Cloud-based clients like DM360 Direct and Nuance SpeechAnywhere-embedded clients like Epic Haiku/Canto and Cerner PowerChart Touch. Central administration of Shared Content provides greater control of content resulting in a more standardized environment.
Specifically, Shared Content includes:
- Auto-Texts
- Formerly referred to as Text and Graphics commands
- Auto-Text is without <lists>
- Custom Words (Words added to speech profile vocabularies)
- Command Sets
- Step-by-Step, Macro Recorder, and Advanced Scripting commands
- Lists
- Text and Graphics commands with <lists>
The table below outlines the availability of Shared Content within the different DM360|NE product versions.

Any existing Text and Graphics commands and Custom Words must be saved and then removed from the DDT (Data Distribution Tool) prior to upgrading to DM360|NE, version 2.x. These .dat and .txt files are stored in the DDT shared directory.
For DM360|NE version 2.0 usage:
- Stop using the DDT for Custom Words and Auto-Texts
- Remove word lists from the DDT and instead import them into the NMC at the Site/Group level
- Remove Auto-Texts from .dat file and place the revised .dat file back into the DDT path
For DM360|NE version 2.1 usage:
- Stop using the DDT altogether
- Delete the DDT path from within the NMC
- Import any word list into the NMC at Site/Group level
- NMC Command Set feature allows .dat files to be imported and distributed, in bulk, to all DM360|NE users

Did you know the Dragon Medical 360 | Network Edition product could be migrated to the Nuance Cloud?
A general outline of the Nuance Cloud Migration for the Dragon Medical 360 | Network Edition (DM360|NE) product follows:
- Customer upgrades their On-premise DM360|NE equipment to version 2.x
- Nuance Cloud Migration
- Customer's Nuance Management Console (NMC) organization is setup in the Cloud NMC by either Nuance or a Nuance Partner
- Customer executes the Cloud Migration Tool
- Customer stages their DM360|NE 2.x On-premise servers
- Reinstall of the Profile Optimizer (directs server to Cloud NMS)
- (Optional) Install of the Nuance Call Forwarder if Active Directory LDAP Single Single-on (SSO) feature is used
- Reconfigure the DM360|NE clients to point to Cloud Nuance Management Server (NMS) or Call Forwarder
- Uninstall (decommission) of On-premise NMS
The On-premise SQL NuanceMC database content is migrated to the Cloud and the On-premise NMS server is removed from the customer site.
The SQL NuancePODB database remains on-premise. Nuance recommended recreating this database during Phase 1 in iSupport solution 16263 - DMNE 2.1 On-premise Upgrade Procedure.
After completing the Cloud Migration, the following components remain on-premise at the customer site:
- Profile Optimizer
- Speech Node(s)
- Master User Profile storage location
- SQL Server with only the NuancePODB database (NuanceMC database will be migrated to the Nuance Cloud)
- If the Active Directory LDAP Single Sign-on feature is used, a Nuance Call Forwarder component is required to be installed on-premise

Note the some of the functional details below when referencing the architectural diagram above.
- Profile optimization and profile storage continue to occur on-premise
Organizational Tokens are created in the Cloud NMC, and are required to be entered during the Profile Optimizer Server and Call Forwarder installations
- All communication between the Profile Optimizer and the Cloud NMS is one way - from the Profile Optimizer to the Cloud NMS. Calls from the Profile Optimizer use service to service token security for credentials to limit the information returned by the Cloud NMS for a specific organization
- Native DM360|NE clients access the Cloud via a URL provided by Nuance
- Optional Active Directory SSO clients access the Cloud by LDAP authentication through the Nuance Call Forwarder. The Call Forwarder communicates with the Cloud NMS using an Organizational Token.
DM360|NE Master Profile and Active Directory LDAP Store servers are provided and maintained by the customer
If a customer is considering a DM360|NE migration to the Nuance Cloud, please refer to this iSupport article for detailed instructions:

Did you know you could erase more than the last recorded word or phrase when dictating with Dragon Medical?
The command "scratch that" followed by a word or phrase is commonly used to erase a portion of speech recognized text in Dragon Medical. You can also say, "scratch that" without a word or phrase, and Dragon Medical interprets this as a command to erase speech recognized text back until the last time the user paused the dictation. Speaking "scratch that" again will erase more text going back to the prior pause. You can even speak "scratch that" and a number of times (i.e. Scratch that 3 times) to erase the last three words or phrases dictated.
Click the play button on the following eTIPS Video to see a brief demonstration on how to use the "scratch that" command repeatedly to remove multiple portions of text.
