Did you know you can speed up account verification?

When created, physician and facility accounts require verification before the account is activated for use.

In the situation that account verification needs to be expedited, a call can be placed to support at 1866-809-4746 or an email sent to  support@nuancepowershare.com with the NPI and name of the account owner for instant access to the account.

Physicians can also upload credentials in the form of their ID in order to expedite the process.

Did you know you will need to ensure your Windows® 10 browser supports Java to use the file upload and modality reconcile tools?

Since our file upload and modality reconcile tools are Java-based, PowerShare users will need to ensure their Windows® 10 browsers support Java in order to use these tools (see FAQ below).

Is Java supported in Windows® 10?

Yes! Java was certified on Windows® 10 starting with Java 8 Update 51.

Will Java run in my browser on Windows® 10?

Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox will continue to run Java on Windows® 10. The Edge browser does not support plug-ins and therefore will not run Java.

How do I find the Java Control Panel in Windows® 10?

From Windows® Search, type in Java. In the search results, select Configure Java. The Java Control Panel will appear.

From the Edge browser, how do I open a URL in Internet Explorer?

The Edge browser allows you to open the same URL in Internet Explorer. Select the More Actions option, located at the top of the Edge browser, and click on Open with Internet Explorer.

Why am I not seeing any indication of Applet content in Edge as I do in other browsers?

Even when Java is disabled, other browsers provide a visual cue to users if Applet content is available on a page. Edge; however, does not, and users must manually load the page in another browser. System administrators and individuals can manage their users' Compatibility View List in Edge to help with prompts to supported browsers.

Did you know you can change your email/login?

PowerShare accounts are tied to a user's email address. When logging into the website, users must enter their email address and password. Should a user wish to change their login, they will need to change the email address saved under their account.

NOTE: All email notifications will be delivered to the email address used to login to the website. 
 

To change your email address:

1. Log in to the PowerShare website (www1.nuancepowershare.com).
2. Navigate to the Account Settings page by clicking the Account Settings  link, which is located in the drop-down menu next to your name (above the search tool at the top of the page).
3. Under Account Settings, click the Personal Information button.
4. Change the email address in the field provided and save your changes.

What's New

The following new features have been added to PowerShare Network for the November 2015 product update.

Single Sign On with Active Directory:

Active Directory (AD) single sign on allows a facility admin to securely add or remove users from multiple applications at one time from a single location. It also allows users to log in with a single network username/password for all applications that they access, including PowerShare.

NOTE: Please contact your Nuance account representative for more information about Single Sign On.

PACS Work Queue:

PowerShare provides a simple method for nominating images for PACS. The Images  tab now contains a choice called PACS, which brings up a dynamic list of the work queue.

NOTE: This feature is available to users who have the Use File room work queue feature enabled in their user profile (under Admin > Manage Users).

Request Work Queue:

PowerShare provides a simple method for managing requests. The Images tab now contains a choice called Requests, which brings up a dynamic list work requests.

NOTE: This feature is available to users who have the Use File room work queue feature enabled in their user profile (under Admin > Manage Users).

Upcoming Maintenance

We have scheduled maintenance on our VRAnywhere voice dictation services. Details surrounding this scheduled maintenance are listed below.

When?

Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 3:00am until 7:00am EST

Which platforms will be affected?

• VRN -  VRAnywhere voice dictation

What can I expect?

During this maintenance window, users may experience issues with the following:

• Logging into the VRAnywhere report editor
• Accessing saved VRAnywhere templates and autotexts
• Dictating report into the VRAnwyhere report editor

During the maintenance period, we will keep our status page up to date with any new information,

If you are not receiving our maintenance notification messages:

1. Confirm that your email address is on the notification list and that the log shows the messages being successfully delivered to you by emailing support@nuancepowershare.com and opening a ticket.
2. Check your spam/junk folder for the message.  Set your spam/junk folder options to allow these messages to be delivered to your inbox.
3. Add delivery@b2b-mail.net  to your whitelist.
4. Investigate with your email administration why the message is not making it to your inbox.

Special Reminder for Chrome Users

The Java plug-in for web browsers relies on the cross platform plugin architecture NPAPI, which has long been, and currently is, supported by all major web browsers. Google has followed through with their plans to remove NPAPI support from Chrome.  With the most recent release (v51) Google Chrome will no longer support NPAPI, thus they are effectively dropping support for Silverlight, Java, Facebook Video and other similar NPAPI based plugins.
The following Java-based PowerShare products will be affected by this change:

• File Upload Tool*
• Modality Worklist Reconcile
• Clinical Viewer*

Java is still supported on other main-stream browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.  Chrome users are encouraged to switch to an alternate browser should they have any issues accessing the products listed above.

* These products have alternative versions available that do not require Java.  Please contact support or your outreach coordinator to discuss available options.

Special Note for Java Users

As of our November release, our recommended version of Java for our File Upload Tool and Modality Worklist Reconcile applets is Java 8 update 65. While our Java applets may run on other versions of Java, PowerShare only guarantees optimal performance of Java 8 update 65.

User Audits:
We recommend auditing your PowerShare users list on a weekly basis. Be sure to disable any users that should no longer have access (terminated employees, employees no longer needing access to PowerShare).
