The complex nature of maintaining and optimizing profiles for speech recognition in diverse environments involves modifying the Dragon Medical profile on a regular basis. While Nuance continues to implement features that help protect profile integrity and guard against external threats, corruption of the Dragon Medical profile can still occur.

Did you know about the new Dragon Medical Advisor (DMA) product?

New NEW: Dragon Medical Advisor (DMA) is a next generation Computer-Assisted Physician Documentation (CAPD) solution that automatically provides real-time quality feedback to physicians while they document patient encounters. DMA is an add-on to the Dragon Medical One product and works for all ambulatory outpatient and inpatient EHRs. DMA leverages Nuance's industry-leading Clinical Language Understanding (CLU™) using proprietary LinkBase® ontology (which is the broadest and deepest technology in the market). DMA provides a personal virtual assistant for ICD-10 and automatically delivers Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) recommendations based on industry best practices and guidelines, leveraging more than 20 years of CDI experience.


ICD-10 means that there are 68,000 diagnosis and 72,000 procedure codes that physicians have to choose from—This represents a 678% increase in coding from ICD-9.


As your virtual ICD-10 assistant, Dragon Medical Advisor (DMA):

  • Analyzes physician's clinical notes in real-time, during documentation and offers immediate responses.
  • Displays documentation components that are missing specificity and suggests further specificity to improve:
    • ICD-10 coding compliance
    • And the strength and completeness of clinical notes
  • Impacts key metrics like:
    • Case Mix Index (CMI)
    • Discharged Not Final Billed (DNFB)
    • Contracts that involve Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs)

DMA helps provider organizations to accelerate billing by optimizing documentation through:

  • Complying with impending ICD-10 requirements
  • Justifying medical necessity decisions

Did you know how to restore the missing install button for DMO ClickOnce when in the Microsoft Edge Browser?

Customers installing Dragon Medical One (DMO) using the ClickOnce method with the Microsoft Edge Browser may experience an issue where the Download Dragon Medical One button is missing.

To resolve this, the Microsoft Edge Browser does provide an option to "Open with Internet Explorer", which then loads the Internet Explorer page with the Download Dragon Medical One button available.

  1. Within the Microsoft Edge Browser, click Settings > View Advanced Settings.
  2. Click Open with Internet Explorer.

TinaWhat's New with Tina?

Tina, Nuance's web interactive support tool, is a text-based, chat window hosted on your iSupport Home tab that delivers self-service support. Tina offers a human-like conversational approach when communicating with Nuance's customers. The focus for Tina is to quickly and accurately answer common questions about the Dragon Medical product.

Recent Improvements
The Dragon Medical Support Team is working to improve customer satisfaction by analyzing customer conversations with Tina and making appropriate changes. Tina was updated on 6/30/16 with the following changes:

  • Over 300 conversations reviewed from month of May.
  • 30 responses added or enhanced.
  • Major topics integrated for NMS 5.3, DMNE 2.5, and DMO.
  • iSupport solutions created and updated to support above improvements.
  • 178 key search phrases added to improve responses across a myriad of topics (some listed below):

    ..where the percentage of user inquiries are resolved with the

    Survey results below for Tina represent "Excellent" and "Good"
    responses.

    This metric below shows that this month 25% of customers logging

Dragon Medical NuanceLink Medical Updates

    Medication Update

    A recent medical update have been made available for Dragon Medical Network Edition (DMNE) customers. The customer's Nuance Management Server (NMS) will automatically "pull" (download) these updates as they become available. Once these updates are downloaded, each update will need customer approval through the Nuance Management Console (NMC) Messages page before the update is made available through the Profile Optimizer Server for distribution to the DMNE end-users. Once approved, the task status can be checked through the NMC Utilities under the Profile Optimizer Task List.

Nuance Depot Repair Service

Click here for a Web Form to submit a Depot Repair Service Request for Connexions Station (C-phone), Optic Mic, PowerMic, Philips Speech Mic, tape-based recording devices, digital recorders, etc. iSupport members can save time by simply logging in to iSupport and submitting a service request choosing "Depot" as the Request Type.

NOTE: There is no need to submit a Depot Repair Service Request on a PowerMic under a current Nuance Maintenance Contract. Call Nuance's Customer Account Management team at 800-339-7683 to get the broken PowerMic replaced. At the prompt simply say, "PowerMic Replacement."
