Did you know that events in the HIPAA audit trail results are no longer tied to just the facility owner of a study?

As of the June release, the HIPAA audit trail now returns results if your facility is listed as the Owning Account, Action Account, or Recipient Account for an event. This means that even more results will be visible to users in the audit trail.

For example, facilities uploading studies to other accounts will now be able to view the upload event in their HIPAA audit logs. Even though they aren’t the ‘recipient’ of the study, they will still be able to search for the event as they are listed as the ‘action’ account.

Did you know you can choose which email notifications your physicians will receive, by default, when you invite them to join PowerShare?

The Physician Notifications section of the General Preferences page allows facility admins to control which email notifications are selected by default for newly invited physicians. Admins can access this page by navigating to the Admin tab, clicking the General Preferences icon, and then scrolling down to the Physician Notifications section.

Are your facility users getting the most out of the images tab?

Enabling the file room work queue for your facility users enables both of these queues for the images tab on PowerShare:

  • Image Sharing [Request]
    The Requests queue is for image share requests. All requests come into this centralized queue for image shares where the file room can take an action to either share an image set, or reject the request. Sign into PowerShare and view the full Requests guide from our online help page here.
     
  • [PACS] Nomination
    The PACS queue is a dynamic worklist containing all nominations generated thru the Nominate to PACS action. The file room will then either push to PACS or reject the request. Sign into PowerShare and view the full PACS guide from our online help page here.
     

The file room work queue can be enabled while editing a user from the manage users page located under the Admin tab.

What's New in PowerShare Network

The next PowerShare release is scheduled for Tuesday, August 16, 2016 (at 9:00am EST). We are looking forward to this release as it provides valuable and beneficial new features:

  • Expired Password Change Support for Mobile App
    Ability to change your expired password from the mobile app for Android and iOS.
     
  • Default Advanced Search Parameters
    Specify customized default study date range and search criteria for the Advanced Search page.
     
  • Global Search Functionality
    The upper-right search in PowerShare now searches your entire PowerShare repository.
     
  • Messaging Blacklist
    Emails will no longer be distributed when 5 messages have bounced for the address.

Upcoming Maintenance

There is no upcoming maintenance scheduled at this time.

If you are not receiving our maintenance notification messages:

  1. Confirm that your email address is on the notification list and that the log shows the messages being successfully delivered to you by emailing support@nuancepowershare.com and opening a ticket.
  2. Check your spam/junk folder for the message.  Set your spam/junk folder options to allow these messages to be delivered to your inbox.
  3. Add delivery@b2b-mail.net  to your whitelist.
  4. Investigate with your email administration why the message is not making it to your inbox.
Special Reminder for Java Users

As of our June release, our recommended version of Java for the File Upload Tool and Modality Worklist Reconcile applets is Java version 8 update 101. While our Java applets may run on other versions of Java, PowerShare only guarantees optimal performance when running Java version 8 update 101.

TIP: If you do not have a login for Nuance University, use the following steps to create an account and gain immediate access to the courses:

  1. Click one of the course location links above to access the Nuance University login window.
  2. Click Create Account in the lower right-hand corner.
  3. Complete all required information and click Submit.
  4. When the Registration Confirmation appears, click Close.
  5. Review and accept the License Agreement.
  6. Select Catalog and search for PowerShare to access the available training.

Best Practice Reminder

We recommend auditing your PowerShare users list on a weekly basis. Be sure to disable any users that should no longer have access (terminated employees, employees no longer needing access to PowerShare).
