Did you know about our new Nuance Healthcare Notification Services (NHNS) for DataCenter alerts?
Nuance has launched the Nuance Healthcare Notification Services (NHNS), an incident communication system for customer notification of events such as:
- Nuance DataCenter, scheduled maintenance alerts for Cloud-hosted, Dragon Medical products
- Nuance DataCenter, unplanned outage alerts for Cloud-hosted, Dragon Medical products
- Special announcements specific to Dragon Medical products
IMPORTANT: Customers may need to register, activate, and manage their own user profiles in order to be notified of DataCenter alerts.
Do I need to create a new user profile?
- NO, if...A customer contact received Nuance DataCenter alerts for Cloud-hosted Dragon Medical products regarding the February 21st maintenance event. These user profiles have already been added to the NHNS system, and therefore, the customer contact does not need to create, register and activate their user profile. However, each user will need to log into the NHNS system to change their password and add additional contact methods.
- YES, if...A customer contact is not currently receiving Nuance DataCenter alerts for Cloud-hosted Dragon Medical products. To receive notification alerts, customers must register and activate a new user profile.

Did you know about DMD Issues with Streamlined Athena?
Customers using Dragon Medical Direct (DMD) with the new Streamlined version of Athena EHR have reported the following issues:
- Full Text Control issues
- Errors out and ejects the user out
- Apostrophe or special characters seem to trigger issues
Troubleshooting compatibility issues emerging with the new Streamlined version of Athena and the DMD product have produced a workaround of switching back to the Classic version of Athena.
IMPORTANT: Until issues with the new Streamlined version of Athena can be resolved, it is strongly recommended that the Classic version of Athena be used.
Here are instructions on how to configure the Athena application and change from Streamlined to Classic.
- Click the Gear in the Athena toolbar.
- Click My Configurations and then User Preferences.
- Scroll down to athenaNet Experience and click Classic.
- Then click Submit.
Classic should then show in the table space.

Did you know about the Dragon Medical MyCmds.dat File?
Customers using Dragon Medical client products maintain the MyCmds.dat file within each of their user profiles. The following describes the purpose and function of the MyCmds.dat file:
- MyCmds.dat file contains all custom commands for that Dragon Medical user.
- The command contents in the MyCmds.dat file can be viewed, edited, imported, and exported through the Dragon Medical client's Command Browser.
- The stored command types can be: AutoTexts, Text and Graphics, Step-by-Step, Macro Recorder, or Advanced Scripting.
- Individual MyCmds.dat files can be exported and imported between clients.
- Dragon Medical Network Edition (DMNE), version 2.x, also provides the ability of creating shared Command Sets through the Nuance Management Console (NMC). See the DMNE Administrator Guide from iSupport solution #14111.
- The MyCmds.dat file can be protected via the My Commands Protection Utility which sets permissions so that after a user imports this file, that user can dictate the commands, but cannot view or edit their source code, or re-export the commands.
- The MyCmds.dat file increases in size each time a new custom command is added through the Command Browser.
The MyCmds.dat file can be restored, if needed, by taking one of the following actions:
- Restore your user files from a system backup.
- Manually copy MyCmds.dat from a backup or other location, to the user profile location (called out below).
The Dragon Medical client maintains the MyCmds.dat file in the following locations:
\Program Files\Dragon\NaturallySpeaking\Users\username\Current\ \Program Files\Dragon\NaturallySpeaking\Users\username\Backup\
The original MyCmds.dat file that every new user initially receives a copy of is located:
\Program Files\Dragon\NaturallySpeaking\Data\NLP\enx\MyCmds.dat

Tina, Nuance's web interactive support tool, is a text-based, chat window hosted on your iSupport Home tab that delivers self-service support. Nuance Depot Repair Service
Click here for a Web Form to submit a Depot Repair Service Request for Connexions Station (C-phone), Optic Mic, PowerMic, Philips Speech Mic, tape-based recording devices, digital recorders, etc. iSupport members can save time by simply logging in to iSupport and submitting a service request choosing "Depot" as the Request Type.
NOTE: There is no need to submit a Depot Repair Service Request on a PowerMic under a current Nuance Maintenance Contract. Call Nuance's Customer Account Management team at 800-339-7683 to get the broken PowerMic replaced. At the prompt simply say, "PowerMic Replacement."
