Did you know short filenames can cause problems with PowerMic™ Mobile?
Customers using PowerMic™ Mobile (PMM) with short filenames (8.3 format) can experience problems.
For example, launching sod.exe (Dragon Medical One executable) in a batch file using short file name path (below) will cause PMM to fail to launch the pairing window.
IMPORTANT: The solution is to use long filenames only with PMM.

Did you know how the Dragon Medical One ClickOnce update can fail?
Dragon Medical One provides a ClickOnce deployment method that uses Microsoft's web deployment technology to facilitate downloading and updating the Dragon Medical One client. The deployment may fail when conditions exist that prevent the updated files from downloading or installing on the target machine.
Upon failure, ClickOnce presents a dialog with a detailed log.
Clicking the Details... button opens the log file in Windows Notepad.
REPORTED ISSUES
The following issues can occur for Dragon Medical One when using the ClickOnce deployment:
Microsoft Word or Internet Explorer (IE) can lock files within Dragon Medical One
When updating Dragon Medical One with MS Word or IE open, it is possible that the previous version of Dragon Medical One has not yet fully released its hooks into these processes. This results in a locked file which will cause the Dragon Medical One update to fail. The resolution for this issue would be to reboot the machine to allow the hooks to release and rerun the update. This situation would appear in the log file as follows:
+ System.Deployment.Internal.Isolation.StoreOperationStageComponentFile - Status: Failed - HRESULT: 0x80070020 - File: content\SoD.WordAddin.dll
Installation Failure Due to network connectivity issues
ClickOnce requires that the user has access to dragonmedical360direct.nuance.com during the update. Loss of network connectivity caused by wireless disconnections, firewalls, etc. may cause a failure in deployment.
Other Failures
Many non-specific issues can be resolved by refreshing the application cache for ClickOnce deployments. This can be accomplished by:
- Navigating to %localappdata%\apps
- Renaming the folder that has the random characters.
- Re-running the installation.
If the folder is locked, this could be the cause of the issue. A reboot may resolve this issue.
