VIDEO: PMM installation error on Android device
(Rob Prier, 2:00 minutes)
|
Customers using the PowerMic™ Mobile (PMM) with an Android mobile device for either the Dragon Medical Network Edition (DMNE) or Dragon Medical One (DMO) product can inadvertently associate the PMM Config URL with a web browser. This can result in the inability to configure PMM on the Android mobile device and present either of the two errors below:
This webpage is not available:
This site can't be reached:
Perform the following steps to remove the association from the relevant web browser that was inadvertently associated to the PMM Config URL.
- Under the Android Settings, tap Apps (under Personal).
- Select relevant web browser application.
- Tap Clear Defaults.
- Tap Force Stop to close the application.

Did you know how to add a new word or phrase in DMO?
One method of improving recognition within the Dragon Medical One (DMO) client is to add a word or phrase via the Manage Vocabulary option. End users begin
with a vocabulary base that best fits their medical specialty. However, if a
word or phrase is not included in that vocabulary base, DMO will not be
able to transcribe it correctly. To add a new word or phrase:
- Open Manage Vocabulary by saying "manage vocabulary" or "edit vocabulary" or "manage words".
- To ADD a new word, click Add or the "+" symbol.

- Type the word or phrase in the empty field.
- If the word differs in spelling and/or pronunciation, click Enter the word as you would pronounce it and then pronounce it.
Here is an example for adding "Dr. Cetindag":

- Click Save.
The Pronunciation field can also be used to associate a nickname or acronym. Here is an example for adding: James Slayback Memorial Medical Center, with the pronunciation: JSMMC.
Best Practices
- In the Pronunciation field, type the words in lowercase unless it is an acronym. Acronyms must be in UPPERCASE.
- If a word is not easily recognized, try to add it as a phrase instead.
Refer to the DMO User's Reference Guide.

Did you know how to disable DMO registration of the Microsoft Word add-in?
When launching Dragon Medical One (DMO), by default the application calls the regsvr32.exe executable to register the Microsoft Word add-in. To
disable registration of the Microsoft Word add-in, do the following:
- Open the SoD.exe.config file.
- In the SoD.Settings, add the setting RegisterWordAddIn and specify as follows:
<setting name="RegisterWordAddIn" serializeAs="String">
<value>False</value>
</setting>
NOTE: This configuration setting is optional.
Registering Microsoft Word Add-in for Individual DMO Users
If registration of the Microsoft Word add-in is disabled, you can enable it for an individual user. Log on to the corresponding user account and run the following command:
regsvr32.exe /s SoD.WordAddin.dll
If a user works with a 64-bit version of Microsoft Word, run the following command:
regsvr32.exe /s SoD.WordAddin_x64.dll
NOTE: If you update Dragon Medical One, you must run the corresponding command again.
Refer to the DMO 3.2 Installation and Administration Guide.

Did you know about the changes to downloading DMNE software?
Customers using Dragon Medical Network Edition (DMNE) On-Premise systems can now download DMNE software from separate iSupport solutions. DMNE server and client software have been posted separately to two (2) iSupport solutions in order to provide a simpler interface from which to better call attention to specific requirements, recommendations, and cautionary statements.
DMNE Server Software
All DMNE server software is now posted to this new iSupport solution:
19704: DMNE On-Premise Server Software Downloads
DMNE server software includes Nuance Management Server (NMS), Speech Node, Dragon Medical SDK client (Speech Node), as well as server migration tools.
IMPORTANT: Upgrading your on-premise NMS to 5.x versions without first consulting Technical Support on the ramifications for your system environment can lead to upgrade failure and subsequent unnecessary downtime. This is especially true with DMNE customer environments using:
- Multiple network domains
- Multiple NMS servers
- Load balancing of multiple NMS servers
- LDAP/Active Directory authentication model
Please contact Technical Support to discuss a successful upgrade strategy for your site.
DMNE Client Software
All DMNE client software remains posted to the same iSupport solution:
14274: DMNE Client Software Downloads
To learn more and to keep current with any changes to this topic, log in to iSupport and search for solutions:
