Special reminder for Java users

As of our February release, our recommended version of Java for the File Upload Tool and Modality Worklist Reconcile applets is Java version 8 update 121. While our Java applets may run on other versions of Java, PowerShare only guarantees optimal performance when running Java version 8 update 121.


Best practice reminder

We recommend auditing your PowerShare users list on a weekly basis. Be sure to disable any users that should no longer have access (terminated employees, employees no longer needing access to PowerShare).

eTip 1

Do you know where to find the total image count for an uploaded image-set?

The PowerShare basic viewer displays the total image count for all images contained in an uploaded image-set. Users can access the basic viewer from the Viewer Options pane on the right-hand side of the Images tab.

The image count for the image-set is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the viewer: 'View all # Images'.

eTip 2

Did you know that new collaboration tools are now available in eUnity Clinical Viewer?

Collaboration has been added to the HTML5 viewer, used by most PowerShare users. Collaboration allows users to sync up their viewer sessions with other users. While syncd, the viewing sessions share actions such as: navigation, window/level, and more.

For more information about the Collaboration function in the eUnity viewer, please refer to the eUnity help file.

NOTE: The collaboration feature continues to be available on the VRN platform for users using the Flash version of the eUnity viewer.

eTip 3

Did you know you can share images with patients not on your contact list via the invite+share function?

Sharing images with existing contacts is done on the images tab via the share images option in the action pane on the right side of the page.

When sharing images to a new patient, users should select the 'Search for a new contact' link.

Patient email is entered on the Choose Recipient popup, with Patients selected as the category from the drop-down menu. Search results are listed below the search form.

NOTE: When sharing to a new patient, not in PowerShare, a message is sent to the the patients email address with instructions on completing their registration / viewing their images.

PowerShare training

You can register for training by completing the online registration form here.

NEW: In addition to our live, remote training courses, we now offer training videos that can be viewed on your own schedule. You can access the newly added course recordings (links listed below) and more at Nuance University.

If you do not have a login for Nuance University, use the following steps to create an account and gain immediate access to the courses:

  1. Click one of the course location links above to access the Nuance University login window.
  2. Click Create Account in the lower right-hand corner.
  3. Complete all required information and click Submit.
  4. When the Registration Confirmation appears, click Close.
  5. Review and accept the License Agreement.
  6. Select Catalog and search for PowerShare to access the available training.

Meet Robin Williams

Robin Williams is a support engineer for Nuance's PowerShare Support team. Robin has recently joined the team and has worked in the IT field for over 11 years. Robin is extremely committed to ensuring our customers are achieving the highest level of support for their facilities, physicians, and patients on the PowerShare Network.

Robin lives in North Atlanta with her fiance and step-daughter. She enjoys traveling, video games, and spending time with family.
