This month's eTips

eTip 1

Did you know that you can assign a report to an Attending radiologist by Section?

In order to use this feature, it must first be enabled by your PowerScribe 360 Reporting system administrator.

You can now assign reports to a Section so that they are available to the appropriate attending radiologists. This helps to ensure that the report will be overread in a timely manner since you might not know the name of the specific attending radiologist, only the section.

  • The Select Attending dialog box (available from Tools > Change Attending in the Client application) displays the sections prior to the list of attending radiologists.
  • All sections for the current order's Site that include at least one radiologist with an active Attending role are available for selection.
  • You can select only a single assignment.
  • If you are still unsure of the radiologist or section to which you should assign the report, you can select the Unassigned option that appears at the bottom of the drop-down list. This places the
report in the Section Queue of all attending radiologists for that section.

eTip 2

Did you know you can search for AutoText from within the PowerScribe 360 Reporting Client?

You can now search for AutoText while using the Report Editor window using the Name field and Search button.

From the AutoText tab in the Report Editor, type the first few letters of the AutoText for which you are searching, and click the Search button.

The example below shows the results for All Sites for the name ct b. The results are filtered based on the current List selection (All Site, All Personal, Relevant, and so on).

eTip 3

Did you know that how you see the Prelim button can change for Residents based on workflow preferences?

In PowerScribe 360 Reporting v4.0, depending upon how your system administrator has configured this feature, when drafting a report you will see a new button for sending preliminary reports to an attending provider for approval.

This button replaces the existing Send as Preliminary button in the toolbar (and its corresponding command in the File menu). The "Send as Preliminary" voice command has been removed as well. In order to use this feature, it must first be enabled by your PowerScribe 360 Reporting system administrator.

You will see one of the following buttons:

Approve Approve: When you click the Approve button, your report goes to the Attending provider, or Section, that you selected. The report is not sent to the RIS/HIS. The File menu also shows Approve.
Prelim & Approve Prelim & Approve: When you click the Prelim & Approve button, your report goes to the Attending provider, or Section, that you selected. The report is sent to the RIS/HIS. The File menu also shows Prelim & Approve.
Prelim & Approve Dropdown A third possibility is that this button appears with a drop-down arrow, allowing you to select either Approve or Prelim & Approve as needed. (The command in the File menu also appears as a choice for this selection.)
