Release overview

Dragon Medical Network Edition version 2.7.8 includes fixes for several issues reported by customers. In addition, DMNE 2.7.8 includes fixes to address security flaws.

Important information

The DMNE 2.7.8 release is recommended for the following defect resolutions:

• Memory leaks that occur in HTML fields using Dragon with Epic Hyperspace on local workstations
• Crash in Microsoft Outlook 2016 when dictating messages
• Additional issues cited in the Solved Issues section of this page

Nuance Management Server

Support for Nuance Management Server versions 5.8.3, 5.9, 5.10, 6.1, 6.1 Patch 2 and 6.2.

Solved issues

• Memory leak when using DMNE 2.7 with Epic 2017 (and later versions of Epic)
  
  When running a local installation of Epic Hyperspace, dictating into forms no longer causes memory leaks in Dragon.
• Citrix applications not starting after installing the Service Pack upgrade
  
  Citrix applications now start after installing the service pack.
  
  NOTE: In this DMNE 2.7.8 release, the fix is provided in the full build and the service pack.
• Commands missing in DMNE client
  
  Commands are now saved correctly for DMNE sessions that time out when JSON web tokens expire.
• Crash in the Chrome browser when using DMNE
  
  The Chrome browser no longer crashes when using DMNE with the Dragon Medical Web Chrome extension.
• Subsequent /ssouser login attempts fail after NMS connection is lost when launching DMNE with SSO authentication
  
  If NMS connectivity is disrupted during an /ssouser login attempt, successive DMNE /ssouser logins will now function as expected.
• Memory leak when dictating into HTML javascript controls in Epic Hyperspace local client
  
  Dragon no longer leaks memory when dictating into Hyperspace HTML controls supported using Javascript.
• Dragon crashes when dictating and using commands with Microsoft Outlook 2016
  
  Dragon no longer crashes when dictating and using commands in MS Outlook 2016 messages.
• Commands are missing when switching between machines running Dragon
  
  Commands are preserved when they are accessed between different machines running Dragon with the SOAP and REST communication protocols.

DMNE service pack 2.7.8 can be installed over any existing installation of DMNE 2.x.

This release contains updates for the Dragon Medical Network Edition client. When updating the Dragon Medical Network Edition client; Nuance recommends to update the minitracker to achieve full support.
