Did you know you can access the HIPAA audit log?
As an imaging facility administrator, you have the ability to access detailed audit logs for HIPAA reporting purposes. All activity involving Protected Health Information (PHI) is logged and can be retrieved online and exported to a CSV file.
To access HIPAA audit trails:
- Click the Admin tab, and then click the HIPAA Audit Trail icon to open the HIPAA Audit Trail Search window.
- Enter your search parameters. All data entry fields are optional but narrowing the search to a specific patient or time frame speeds up the query.)
- After entering the parameters, click the Search button. Your results appear in a table below the search form.
To filter your search results, enter text in the Filter field. This allows you to narrow down the results by user, patient, event, and so on.
|
TIP: You can enter multiple items in the Filter field to combine the filters. For example, entering "anna studyView" will reduce the results to only transactions where someone viewed images for patients named 'anna'. If the results span multiple pages, buttons at the bottom right of the table (4) allow you to advance through the data set. |
If you want to export the entire audit trail to a comma delimited (CSV) file, click the Export to CSV button (below the results table). The browser will prompt you to download the file, allowing you to import the data into other applications such as Excel.
|
NOTE: Some of our eTIPS subscribers may remember a review of the HIPAA audit trail in our February 2015 E-tips. We encourage you to revisit the HIPAA audit trail page as the export to CSV function now has new data columns including patient accession number, medical record number and image arrival date. |

Did you know you can back up your Accelerator Gateway (AGW) | Restoring your Accelerator Gateway (AGW)?
The Accelerator Gateway (AGW) software can be deployed within an imaging facility to create a secure, efficient and persistent communication channel to the PowerShare cloud. Once set up, images can be easily exchanged with the cloud directly from local DICOM devices such as PACS or modalities.
We recommend backing up your Accelerator Gateway (AGW) configuration file to ensure a rapid recovery of PowerShare services as part of your disaster recovery plan.
To backup your AGW configuration:
- Create a copy of the com.accelarad.smx.gateway.provisioning.cfg file located in one of these two directories:
- C:\Nuance\PowerShare\Accelerator\agw-distribution-x.x.x\etc
- C:\Accelarad\Accelarator\agw-distribution-x.x.x\etc
- Move the copied file to your safe, backup location.
|
NOTE: The AGW config file does not need to be backed up regularly. The file is static and does not change as the online configuration is changed. |
In the event you need to recover your AGW installation — or need to move your AGW to a new workstation, copy the config file to the desktop of the new workstation and contact our support team to schedule the implementation.

Did you know you can adjust the size of overlay text and toolbar icons in the eUnity Viewer?
When the eUnity viewer is launched, it uses your browser's text zoom/scale to determine what size the study overlay text and toolbar icons should be.
If you increase or decrease your browser's zoom, the eUnity viewer will follow suit when it is launched as a separate window.
