To improve performance and provide a better user experience, the Nuance Healthcare ID (NHID) is no longer supported by Nuance and will be discontinued as of April 1, 2024. Learn details here.
Dragon Medical One 2023.3 introduced breaking changes to the Dragon Medical One configuration file structure. Failure to use a configuration file with version 2023.3 or higher as the basis for your deployment will cause the following issues:
Dragon Medical One will display an error during application start, stating that 'The “Flavor” setting is not configured correctly in the configuration file. Please contact your administrator.'
Customizations in the 'DefaultOptions' section of the configuration file won't be applied.
In general, we recommend always using the configuration file delivered with a new release. To transfer any customizations to the new version, you must copy customized values, such as the organization token, to the new configuration file.
The Dragon Medical One Resource Hub materials will move into the Dragon Medical One app for users and trainers and into Nuance University for administrators on February 27th. Once released, you'll see we have added more resources and learning materials to the Dragon Medical One Training Center, moving all of the materials from the Dragon Medical One Resource Hub into the app. Just say open training and select 'Learning library' to find tutorial videos, eLearning modules, quick reference guides and other resources, plus newsletter archives and recordings from past webinars including the very popular 'Train Your Dragon' series. If you're an administrator without access to the Dragon Medical One app, you’ll be able to gain access to the Dragon Medical One administrator resource hub. To sign up for our Dragon Medical One newsletter or future training opportunities, you'll be able to select the link in the 'Learning library' or click here. Stay tuned to your Training Center for more resources to come.
The Training Center for Dragon Medical One will undergo scheduled maintenance from Monday, February 26th, 2024, at 10:00 PM EST through Tuesday, February 27 at 6:00 AM EST. During this time, Dragon Medical One end users in the US and Canada might be unable to access the Dragon Medical One online training content when dictating open training or navigating to the DragonBar menu > What You Can Say > Hamburger icon > Training. Until these updates are complete, customers can still access the Dragon Medical One Resource Hub. A separate notification will be sent once maintenance is complete and the Resource Hub has moved into the Training Center.
Note: This scheduled maintenance will not affect the operation of Dragon Medical One.
When Dragon Medical One is configured to use Auth0 authentication, administrators can now configure Dragon Medical One to prompt users for their credentials every time they sign in. To enable this feature, the new Dragon Medical One configuration setting 'ForceAuthenticationPromptOnStartup' must be set to 'True'. If this setting isn't in the SOD.exe.configuration file or is set to 'False', users can continue to sign in to Dragon Medical One without providing their credentials .
Starting with Dragon Medical One 2024.1, enabling the WebView2 communication hub can be executed in silent mode, suppressing any UI from opening during the registration process to allow for scripted and automated deployments. To run the registration in silent mode, add the 'silent' command line parameter:
SoD.exe -enableHub -silent
Delphi TRichEdit
When having VMware Horizon Agent 8 installed, Dragon Medical One might not start again after the application has been closed. The issue has been fixed with the VMware Horizon 2111 release (Horizon Agent 8.4).
When working with a Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic 4 device, the screen saver is not displayed after the configured period of inactivity when recording is in standby mode.
To disable this behavior, press and hold the left mouse and touchpad buttons on the recording device for five seconds. When the firmware setting has been changed successfully, the device provides visual and audio feedback. This setting is stored on the device and needs to be changed individually on each device.
For more information on supported infrastructure and text control support, see the Dragon Medical One Installation and Administration Guide.

If your environment does not meet the minimum requirements outlined, Nuance's ability to assist may be limited. This means that most functionality questions continue to be addressed, but if a bug is suspected or you are running into an issue that requires a technical investigation beyond known issues and fixes, we will recommend that you upgrade to the latest supported version. The following products fall into this best-effort support framework (this list is not comprehensive):
Microsoft Windows 8.1
Support for third-party environments is only valid as long as they are supported by the corresponding vendor and might be subject to other restrictions. Please contact Nuance Technical Support for details. For more information, see the documentation delivered with the third-party product and supporting Nuance documentation.
When standard support by the vendor has stopped, Nuance will continue support if an issue is specific to the Nuance solution, within the limitations of the vendor’s standard end-of-life and Nuance's policy. This means that issues that are a combination of the vendor’s component and the Nuance solution cannot be supported.
