Release overview

Dragon Medical Network Edition version 2.7.9 includes fixes for several issues reported by customers. In addition, DMNE 2.7.9 includes fixes to address security flaws, resolutions for Dragon software defects, and upgrades to third-party libraries..

DMNE 2.7.9 software is available on https://nuancecommunity.force.com/NuanceHealthcareSupport/s/article/DMNE-Client-Software-Downloads14274 as a full installation, or service pack installer. The release includes software updates to the DMNE client and minitracker. In addition, this release of the Dragon Medical SDK 2.7.9 includes new security updates.

Important information

The DMNE 2.7.9 release is recommended for the following defect resolutions and defect enhancements:

• Support for dictation into custom CKEditor fields in TrakCare
• New registry for supporting UIAutomation applications on a Citrix Server
• Removed DMA related virtual channel and integration DLLs from DMNE, installers, vSyncRestorer
• Security updates to DMNE and third-party libraries
• Support for Cerner Millennium 2018

Security recommendations for master user profiles

A master user profile is the version of a user profile stored on the network in a location determined by a NMC console administrator.

On the client computer that hosts the Dragon Medical client, the user must log into a Windows account that has full read, write, and modify access to the network location of the master user profiles.

When setting up master user profiles, Nuance recommends:

• Creating one Windows login account for each DMNE user. The Active Directory administrator should then apply full read, write, and modify permissions to only the master user profile associated with that Windows account. By doing this, each user will be able to modify their own speech files but won't have access to other users' speech files.
• Not allowing shared workstations where different users can login into DMNE under the same Windows account. By doing this, you prevent users from accessing dictation data stored on other users' speech profile folders.

Nuance Management Server

Support for Nuance Management Server (NMS) versions 5.8.3, 5.9, 5.10, 6.1, 6.1 Patch 2 and 6.2, NMS 6.3 and NMS 6.4. NMS 6.4 will be available in early 2020.

• Citrix Receiver 4.11 and 4.12
• XenApp 7.15 through 7.18
• Citrix Xen Desktop version 7.16
• Windows Servers 2012 and 2016

Solved issues

• Support for dictation into custom CKEditor fields in TrakCare
  
  Dictation is now supported in CKEDitor fields in the TrakCare application. For Internet Explorer only.
• New registry for supporting UIAutomation applications on a Citrix Server
  
  A registry setting is now applied for the minitracker application during installation. Applications that use TX27 WPF/Winforms edit controls require this setting to achieve full-text control.
• Removed DMA virtual channel and integration DLLs from DMNE, installers, vSyncRestorer
  
  Files to support Dragon Medical Advisor are no longer installed for Network Edition. These changes should improve performance when dictating into EMRs by addressing issues where the minidragon could add extra processing due to unsupported DMA functionality
