Explorer Window Toolbar

The following table describes the function of the icons on the Explorer toolbar.

NOTE: In nearly all cases, the Menu bar has an identical function if you prefer to use it.

NOTE: A hidden (grayed out) icon indicates that the feature is not available for the current report or user.

 

Icon

Description

Allows you to open a new report as a Draft or Wet Read (if allowed). Click here for more information on Wet Reads.

Opens the currently selected report.

Saves the selected report as a Draft version. A Draft report has been dictated but is still being worked on by the radiologist.

Sends the selected report to an editor for correction.

Returns a corrected report to the editor or resident (if report was sent to an attending provider). Usually accompanied by a note. Click here for more information about rejecting a report.

For attending providers, this button (Sign as Preliminary) saves the selected report as a Preliminary version.

For residents, this button (Send as Preliminary) sends a draft version of a report to the RIS without changing its status to Pending Signature. The report remains in the resident's Draft queue, allowing her/him to continue editing before sending it to an attending provider for approval.

Sign: For attending providers, electronically signs the selected report

Approve: For a user logged in as a resident, electronically approves the selected report

Indicates a normal report.

Deletes the selected report.

Allows you to select a specific PACS.

Launches the PowerShare Network website.

Opens the My Productivity dialog box.

Starts the AutoFeed function, which automatically brings up your next report in the Report Editor, based on your search results in the Explorer window.

Toggles on and off the Barcode Filter. With this filter on, only a specific range of characters (set by your administrator) is selected when you scan a barcode. With the filter off, the entire barcode is entered. For example, you might use this filter when scanning accession number or patient MRN barcodes. Remember to scan while your cursor is in the Quick Search field.

Toggles on and off the ability to save a report as a wet read (pre-draft) report.

When enabled (wet read save allowed), the icon in the toolbar is highlighted.

 When disabled (wet read save not allowed), the icon in the toolbar is not highlighted.
