Dragon Medical One 2024.3 requires access to https://dragon.us.dmp.nuance.com via port 443; make sure your firewall doesn’t block this port.
We've changed our support definitions for Dragon Medical One to more accurately describe how support is provided to releases. End of Life is now 24 months after the initial release date. When a product release becomes available, it is fully Supported for 12 months, then we provide Limited Support for 6 months. After another 6 months, the product reaches End of Life. The new definitions and an updated release version chart are included below.
If you are using an unsupported version, please contact Nuance support immediately for information on how to upgrade.
When auto-text formatting is enabled for an organization, site or group, users can turn on this feature in the Dragon Medical One app.
Log on to Dragon Medical One.
Select the menu icon .

The Manage auto-texts dialog has been redesigned and is now simpler to use.
The Dragon Medical One WebView2 communication hub now targets the .NET 8.0 runtime and ASP.NET Core 8.0 runtime. This upgrade ensures that the hub benefits from ongoing updates and support, reducing security vulnerabilities and improving overall product quality. The .NET 6.0 runtime will stop receiving updates from Microsoft in November 2024.
IMPORTANT: You now need to deploy the .NET 8.0 runtime and ASP.NET Core 8.0 runtime on your machine separately. The .NET runtime and ASP.NET Core runtime are no longer packaged with Dragon Medical One. Refer to the latest version of the Installation and Administration Guide for detailed instructions on ensuring compatibility with your systems. Failure to do so might result in compatibility issues or loss of functionality.
Dragon Medical One’s wake word feature now uses Microsoft Keyword Spotter to recognize keywords while offline in local and virtual environments. This upgrade reduces the chance of false positives by moving away from Cerence VoCon components.
Removal of Cerence VoCon components: All Cerence VoCon components have been removed.
Implementation of Microsoft Keyword Spotter: Dragon Medical One now exclusively implements Microsoft Keyword Spotter for offline keyword recognition.
Integration and API features: The SDK has been updated with consideration of integration, API features, recognition quality, memory, performance, file size and platforms.
Supported environments: The SDK supports local, Citrix, VMware and RDS Windows end points.
For maintenance and security reasons, there will be no future versions or security updates for Linux extensions. Users should instead use the Citrix native extension for Linux. Further details will be made available in end-of-life support information by mid 2025.
We've implemented significant improvements in how credential information is managed post-authentication in Dragon Medical One. These changes are designed to bolster proper authorization across the stack, mitigating future threats and making sure that our authentication methods are effective.
Handling user credentials:
We've updated the way we handle user credentials after successful authentication so we can dispose of user credentials securely.
We ensure that we transmit and use access tokens securely to prevent unauthorized access across the product stack.
Token renewal process:
We’ve improved the token renewal process for Native/LDAPLOCAL authentication to make the experience smoother and more secure. In case of token renewal issues, an error message is displayed.
When integrating with third-party authentication methods, Dragon Medical One Desktop Application now uses the latest version of the Auth0/MSAL libraries. This is in alignment with Microsoft security requirements.
Library update: MSAL/Auth0 libraries have been updated to the latest released and stable version in Dragon Medical One Desktop Application to ensure compliance and enhance security.
Best practices: The integration process has been thoroughly reviewed and updated to follow best practices for authentication methods.

Delphi TRichEdit
When having VMware Horizon Agent 8 installed, Dragon Medical One might not start again after the application has been closed. The issue has been fixed with the VMware Horizon 2111 release (Horizon Agent 8.4).
When working with a Philips SpeechMike or Nuance PowerMic 4 device, the screen saver is not displayed after the configured period of inactivity when recording is in standby mode.
To disable this behavior, press and hold the left mouse and touchpad buttons on the recording device for five seconds. When the firmware setting has been changed successfully, the device provides visual and audio feedback. This setting is stored on the device and needs to be changed individually on each device.
Formatted auto-texts are inserted using the clipboard, which means Dragon Medical One can't apply context-dependent formatting adjustments like automatically adding white space or adjusting capitalization. To avoid this, users can dictate a punctuation mark or new line before inserting an auto-text, or adjust the formatting and capitalization manually.
Sometimes a crash dump file is created when closing Dragon Medical One.
Deploying Dragon Medical One using the Windows Installer fails if the user does not have administration rights. To be able to install the MSI package, you must run the Command Prompt as administrator.
Sometimes when the user opens the Options dialog box and then closes Dragon Medical One, the app doesn’t close properly and can’t be restarted. To be able to restart Dragon Medical One, the user first needs to manually end the
SOD.exe
task in Task Manager. SOD-1677201
Dragon Medical One terminates unexpectedly when a DMA user (using the Nuance EHRi Web Extension) is not using .NET 6. runtime. To solve this issue, do the following:
Navigate to ASP .NET Core Runtime 6.0.33.
Navigate to Windows Installer.
Download the software from x86 link.
Install the software.
Confirm if this crash is specific to the extension user.
When DMA users navigate in their Cerner application, the microphone sometimes stops responding. When this issue occurs, Dragon Medical One freezes temporarily.
When DMA users document in their Cerner application, sometimes a text field stops responding to keyboard input. Users can continue with dictation, and the text field will respond to the keyboard again when Dragon Medical One is closed - SOD-1846641
For more information on supported infrastructure and text control support, see the Dragon Medical One Installation and Administration Guide.

Note: Audio extensions are backwards compatible up to a year. However to take advantage of new functionality, we recommend you upgrade.
If your environment does not meet the minimum requirements outlined, Nuance's ability to assist may be limited. This means that most functionality questions continue to be addressed, but if a bug is suspected or you are running into an issue that requires a technical investigation beyond known issues and fixes, we will recommend that you upgrade to the latest supported version. The following products fall into this best-effort support framework (this list is not comprehensive):
Support for third-party environments is only valid as long as they are supported by the corresponding vendor and might be subject to other restrictions. Please contact Nuance Technical Support for details. For more information, see the documentation delivered with the third-party product and supporting Nuance documentation.
When standard support by the vendor has stopped, Nuance will continue support if an issue is specific to the Nuance solution, within the limitations of the vendor’s standard end-of-life and Nuance's policy. This means that issues that are a combination of the vendor’s component and the Nuance solution cannot be supported.
